Dr. Amirhoushmand, often referred to as "Dr. A", loves the work she does. Although she has over 25 years of experience and knowledge in the field of mental health, she continues to learn and grow each day. She encourages, guides, challenges, and empowers her patients, staff, and those she encounters on a daily basis. She often says, "count your blessings" and shares about her gratitude for God and each person that walks into her life, which includes her patients, staff, family, friends, and so many others.
Dr. Amirhoushmand received her Board Certification in 2012, with a specialty in Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Amirhoushmand has worked in a variety of settings including schools, communities, private sector, in-home services, and in correctional facilities. She is very involved in providing direct patient care in serving the needs of children referred for an Autism Evaluation.
Her therapeutic style is supportive, but direct in nature. She holds people accountable and strongly believes that accountability is a gift that we offer to give to each other, because it provides us with an opportunity to improve. She comes from the belief that our thoughts shape the quality of our life and is an advocate of self-improvement. She values work-life balance and in her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and creating new memories.
